With every song, I started to find myself wondering what type of different sound would show up. What would be the next genre incorporated into this song? Would it turn into almost a Linkin Park type of vibe, like I got in my favorite on the setlist, on “A Tendency to Fall” I wasn’t alone in being impressed with the transitions and incorporations from the band. Being in the crowd I could audibly hear the occasional “oh nah that's crazy” or “Ohhh” like they’re Young M.A. When something like this is done right, it's undeniable.
Nas - King’s Disease: Countdown To MSG
The high-level storytelling on this album is almost enraging. Nas has always been one to use personal experiences, but also create stories expertly to lay out exactly what he's trying to say. He speaks with such description, yet it comes off so effortless. Even though, just as anyone who has tried rapping over “type” YouTube beats will tell you, it's even harder than you think.
2022 Recap: An Unexpected Year
Music quality comes in waves. One year could be one of the greatest in a musical genre. Then the next could be subpar. Some can start on the biggest of highs and then plummet by the time October comes around. 2022 was not one of those years.
