StonedFest @ Rams Pub

Rams Pub in Holbrook is notorious for its rowdy metal shows, drawing in crowds so large they spill out through the door and onto the front lawn. The Long Island music scene offered no less of a turnout this past weekend, showing up for a belated 4/20 show on Friday, April 21st, featuring bands Pig Farm, Valefor, Goliath, Funeral Dancer, and Stonehenge, who were debuting their new single Burning Bush. These talented bands brought forward Long Island’s talent and variety of metal music for the extremely supportive crowd. Goliath and Valefor brought forward big energy with an exhilarating stage presence starting off the show unbelievably strong. Regulars of Ram’s shows and newcomers alike gathered together to enjoy the music in the pit. Pig Farm graced the stage shortly after, climbing the drum kit and leaping off to rile up the crowd. Always bringing the fire to the lineup, Pig Farm successfully gathered one of the largest groups in the building during their set. Headlining was Funeral Dancer, keeping the fire burning even as the show crawled past midnight. The most anticipated band of the night was arguably Stonehenge, as they debuted their newest single which had come out the night before, playing it for the first time in front of a live crowd. After an energetic set of their previously released work, they played Burning Bush, which is slow and melodic, a captivating song, taking clear inspiration from big metal names of the past. All 6 minutes of the song are engaging and well thought out, grabbing the crowd in a tight chokehold. Differing from their previously released work, Burning Bush is a fresh turn for this talented quartet, opening their doors to new ideas and audiences. Big things are coming for Stonehenge and concertgoers are eager to see what they do next. The show featured vendors Juice Pack and Cannaficionad, as well as Barbeque for hungry show goers who showed up at the doors. Always instilling a sense of community, Rams brings forth a powerful and supportive crowd and hopes to see you at their next show.
